Mainland Chinese-law support for family, property and estate matters that cross borders.
I advise people and families living outside mainland China when a marriage, family-property or estate matter has a China connection. Typical instructions involve heirs abroad dealing with assets in China, foreign wills or estate documents that need to be used in China, and family-property or divorce issues involving more than one jurisdiction.
My role is to handle the mainland Chinese-law side: identify the people and assets involved, review the documents that already exist, determine which Chinese authority or procedure is relevant, and separate what can be dealt with by agreement from what may require notarisation, mediation or court proceedings.
Where proceedings in China are necessary, my work may include divorce, property division, child custody, support, visitation and inheritance disputes. Foreign-law questions and proceedings outside mainland China are handled with counsel admitted in the relevant jurisdiction.
In a family or estate matter I act for one party. A short, non-confidential summary is enough for the first contact; after a conflict check we confirm the responsible lawyer, scope, documents and next step.

We confirm whether we can act, identify the responsible lawyer and agree the scope and fee before substantive paid work begins.
