Before you instruct us

What is a free scope check?

It confirms whether the matter fits, what information is needed and which paid service or assessment is the right starting point. It does not include substantive legal analysis, document review or drafting.

Why are drafting, review and redlining priced separately?

They are different legal tasks. Review identifies risk; redlining adds replacement wording; drafting builds the agreement structure from the transaction; negotiation begins when the counterparty responds or proposes changes.

Why do some services show “From” rather than one fixed price?

Transaction structure, number of entities, technical schedules, bilingual drafting, IP/tooling issues, document volume, urgency and negotiation status can materially change the work. The exact scope and fee are confirmed before paid work begins; a narrower or materially different matter may be quoted separately.

Can an assessment lead to later work?

Yes. A dispute or complex matter may start with a paid assessment, followed by a separately agreed demand letter, negotiation or proceedings. Where a fee credit is offered for the next stage, it will be stated in the written proposal.

What happens if the counterparty sends a new redline?

That is normally a negotiation round, not the client revision included in the first drafting scope. The next round is quoted or handled under the agreed negotiation arrangement.

When does the timetable start?

Typical turnaround starts after scope confirmation, receipt of the complete agreed materials and satisfaction of the engagement/payment conditions.

Agree the next step before work begins.

Conflict check → written scope and fee → engagement → payment → work begins.
